Chronicler. Filmmaker. Storyteller.

Afghanistan. Iraq. India. Antarctica and beyond. My assignments as a television journalist have taken me across the nation and around the world, and given me the opportunity to communicate the experience of people from all walks of life with intimacy, authenticity and a level of cultural awareness brought about by honest and thoughtful observation of the human condition.

A filmmaker with a hard news background, I'm a 6-time EMMY and PEABODY AWARD-winning Producer, Director and Writer.

My travels have taken me from 6,000 feet below the surface of the Earth to tell the story of a neutrino lab in Canada to the National Science Foundation’s operations at the South Pole. I've flown zero-g with Buzz Aldrin, explored the nature of happiness with the Dali Lama and talked soul music with Ray Charles. I was embedded with the Marines for the invasion of Iraq, an assignment that took 40 days to complete. 3 years later, embedded with the US Army for an extended assignment in Afghanistan that took me from Bagram Air Base in Kabul to the famed Khyber Pass in the mountains bordering Pakistan.

I've told stories of desperation and of hope from the refugee camps in Sudan to the fire-ravaged suburbs of Los Angeles. Through all of these travels, I've always had a still camera close at hand to keep a more personal record of what I saw and experienced.

My focus, so to speak, is now to bring to my still photography the same passion, creativity and storytelling chops I brought to the small screen.
